Liberian Women encouraged to focus On Education LMHRA  Chairperson For  IWD Celebration  asserts

The Chairperson of the Liberia  Medicine Health Regulatory Authority for the international Women's Day Celebration, Oretha  Rochez,  has called on Liberian women to see education as key to their progress. 

 

 

Education, she stressed, helps make women independent and marketable to society and should be prioritize across the country,  especially by women of Liberia. 

 

 

" It is never too late to learn and to do the rightful thing, as such,  we need to muster the courage and take the bull by the horn in order to help transform our society,"  she emphasized.

 

 

 

Madam Rochez observed and reflected  that women over the period suffered marginalization,  discrimination and suppression but now is the time  to break the glass ceiling and such she stated can be done with determination and preparation, which will begin with education for them.

 

 

 

Speaking to our reporter when her institution for the first time joined other women groupings and government institutions in commemoration of International Women's Day, Madam Rochez also the Finance Officer of LMHRA,  called  for total inclusion of women into national leadership and decisions making, stating, “we need to be at the table to make our case for the betterment of the society.’’

 

 

 

Women, she said,  are influential and can make the difference when given the chance to explore.

 

 

 

"Let's remain focussed, forget about the past and push forward in order to make our voices heard and I think,  the right time is now," she challenged her fellow female colleagues.

 

 

 

Making emphasis on the theme: Empower Her, Empower All, she wants all women at LMHRA and Liberia in general to form a part of the workings of their respective institutions in order to get fully involved and to make the necessary impact that the society desires.

 

 

Empowerment, she indicated,  can be implemented fully when women are given the space and opportunity to explore, as such, she called  on them to see education as the best tool to make it work for them.

 

 

 

 

Meanwhile, the LMHRA Chairperson for the international women's day celebration lauded the efforts of her colleagues and Liberian women in general for the successful observance of such historic day and at the same time urged them to keep the advocacy of women empowerment and inclusion burning for the future general of potential women leaders.
