People’s Republic of China to train more nurses and doctors at JFD Hospital

The People’s Republic of China has offered to provide training opportunities for more nurses and doctors currently working at the Jackson Fiah Doe Hospital in Tapita , Nimba  County.

The announcement, which appears as a significant boost to the human resource capacity program of the hospital, was made  during a meeting with the Secretary of the Commercial and Economic Office at the Chinese Embassy here in Monrovia .

A release quotes the Medical Director and CEO of the Hospital, Dr. Ponnie Robertlee Dolo, MD, PhD, that the nurses and doctors will be trained in  short term clinical courses or long term graduate and postgraduate programs.

 

The shorterm training programs for 2024, which is expected to begin shortly at various medical institutions in the People’s Republic of China, is expected to specifically focus on Maternal and Neonatal Emergency Care.

During the meeting , Dr . Ponnie Robertlee Dolo thanked the Chinese Embassy for the offer , adding  that such will go a long way in strengthening the capacity of the JFD hospital .

He assured of his fullest support in working with the Embassy in fostering  such partnerships.

 

This is in addition to 9 health and related professionals from the JFD hospital already specializing at various universities in China.

The 9 staffs already in China include candidate for Master degree in Maternal and Child Health, Masters in public health, master neonatal care nursing, Master of Adult critical care nursing, master in Logistics and supply chain management, Masters in Information Technology/Computer science amongst others.
