100-Day Deliverable: GoL Scores High Marks In Infrastructural Development, Provision Of Basic Services

Outcome of the 100-Day’s deliverables of the Unity Party Alliance (UPA) is being reported and tracked and has been established that the government scored high marks in infrastructural development inclusive of roads  ehabilitation/construction and other major infrastructures.

 

During the period under review, the government identified critical road corridors across the country; awarded all contracts and disbursed the first set of payments to contractors.

On the success of this move, critical spots across the country are currently being aggressively worked on in anticipation of the rainy season.

Also, mechanical clearing of vegetation, trees and stumps are ongoing, while grading, and reshaping to form road camber and compaction are ongoing.

In addition, the installation of cross drain at water crossing was done, and critical spots across the country are being maintained and are now pliable to commuters.

For basic services, the government under the stewardship of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai is committed to providing meteorological services data equipment for the Robert International Airport (RIA), constructing the National Digital Cyber Forensic Lab and reactivate e-Liberia and ensuring that all major roads are pliable all seasons  Purchasing of spare parts for Public Buses.

The government has also vowed its commitment to review all contracts signed between 2018 to 2023 so as to ensure compliance with the Public Procurement and Concession Commission (PPCC) and Public Financial Management (PFM) Laws.

More to that, the Liberian government is ensuring Assets verification with the establishment of fixed Assets registry for accountability.

It is also endeavoring to carrying out General Road Users worthiness Motor Vehicle and Driver Licensing, Insurance, Eligibility Certification Enforcement Exercises.

The Government of Liberia is further committed to carry out the Agricultural census; develop the National Agriculture Development Plan; initiate discussion on the establishment of an Agriculture and Industrial Development Bank (AIDB) and complete, validate and adopt Liberia’s food security strategy.

In the same vein, efforts are underway for the provision of meteorological services data equipment for the Robert International Airport (RIA), construction of the National Digital Cyber Forensic Lab and reactivate e-Liberia and ensuring that all major roads are pliable all seasons.

The procurement plan for the National Cyber Digital Forensic Laboratory and E-Liberia Portal Project has been approved by PPCC and contract has been awarded for the construction of the forensic data center.

The PPCC process is ongoing for the procurement of spare parts for public buses and Presidential Executive Order issued waving duties on fuel and spare parts for NTA.
