Liberian Senate Awaits Supreme Court Ruling On House Impasse

The Liberian Senate has announced that it will refrain from forwarding any legislative instrument to the House of Representatives until the Supreme Court of Liberia issues its opinion on the House Impasse currently before the court.
Senate Pro-Tempore Nyonblee Karnga Lawrence confirmed the Senate's decision during a press briefing, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the rule of law in resolving the crisis. 
"We will not act until the Supreme Court has ruled. Once that ruling is issued, the Senate will have no option but to operate within its guidance," Senate Pro-Tempore Lawrence stated.
The Senate’s stance comes in the wake of heightened tensions surrounding the issue, which has drawn significant public and political attention.
