In its quest to leave no stone unturned in the fight to kick drugs out of the country, the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) under the lukewarm atmosphere of Monday afternoon, May 20, 2024 announced the arrest of one its commanders and a top police officer for being in “bed” with a notorious drugs dealer and folks.

Speaking at a news conference held at the headquarters of the LDEA in Sinkor, Monrovia, the Director of LDEA, Col. Abraham Kromah identified the LDEA Commander as Madam Bendu Massaley and the police officer as Abraham Dormoyan alias “AB Kromah.”

Col. Kromah explained that Commander Massaley Officer “Dormoyan) solicited the amount of US$21,000 from the notorious drugs dealer identified as Allusene for the sole purpose of facilitating a meeting between him (dealer) and him (Col. Kromah) so as to ensure an easy pathway for drugs.

“Over the weekend, our investigation established that a guy who carries the same last name with me, Abraham K. Kromah, whose real name is Durmoyan, had come to me to tell me that he was resigning from the police to come to work for the unit [LDEA). And I opened up to him because I have known him to be a police officer. He actually came during the fast month and so nothing much was discussed. Not knowing, this is a guy who is in bed with drugs dealers. While trying to get employed in the DEA, he had gone to interact with some known drugs dealers and was given US$21,000. He got that money and went

and to our Commander at our Airfield Satellite Deport so that they would find means to get to me. In fact, from our understanding, these people [Alusane and guys first met with our commander. Our Airfield Depot Chief, as a top DEA officer, neglected her function and instead recommended the people to Mr. Dormoyan on grounds that he would easily get to me because he’s closed to me – he’s like a a brother to me,” LDEA boss Kromah explained.

“Alusane, our investigation proves, had done some work with the immediate past regime. In their negotiation, US$10,000 was first given and the second money was US$11,000 and they went on to have their distribution. At the end of the day, they could not deliver and the information started to leak to our intelligence; hence Dormoyan and our Commander were arrested.”

“This is the way to let you know that there is no room for drugs dealer in our ranks. People will try but will not succeed, because we have isolated our backs and our fronts. This is because we have an agenda, and our agenda is to succeed that drugs will move here and there in our country. Anybody who will come under the cover of darkness to maline, we will find you and expose you.”

Col. Kromah vowed that the LDEA in an effort to leave no stone unturned for the sole purpose of delivering up to President Nyuma Boakai’s declaration of drugs as national emergency, will remain robust at all times without fear or favor.

At the same time, the LDEA has arrested a 24-year-old Liberian identified as Musa Kromah in possession of 522 grams of Kush drugs valued at US$10,440 (L$1,983,600.00) and a Ghanaian identified as James Harrison, 39, in possession with 2.9 kilograms of compressed marijuana valued at US$220.4 (L$41,876.00).
