Liberia’s Best Teacher’s Awards Ceremony expected August 24 This Year

In an effort to strengthen and Motivate teachers, the Ministry of Education has launched year two of the Country’s National Best Teacher’s Awards ceremony expected to be held on August 24, 2023 this year. The first winner stands to walk away with two million Liberian Dollars.
It is an event to honor and celebrate teachers and school administrators for their unique contributions in building the Country’s Human Capital.
At the Launch recently in Congo Town, outside Monrovia,  the Chairman of the organizing Committee, Prof. Isaac Zarwolo, said honoring the contributions of teachers is key to bettering the sector.
The Monrovia Consolidated School System (MCSS) Superintendent hailed the resilient of teachers across the Country for the strides and urged them to apply for the awards ceremony.
Mr. Zarwolo said honoring the contributions of teachers is key to bettering and professionalizing the sector for quality education for all.
The launch of this year’s National Teacher’s Awards followed the successful conduct of the process in 2022.
The Nation’s first ever National Best Teacher’s Awards ceremony was held on August 24, 2022 with Madam Precious Joy Teeweh emerging as winner.
As a proud recipient of the award, Ms Teeweh urged teachers across the Country to apply and stop being doubtful of the process. She added that the process is very transpirant and professional. Teachers should not be doubtful but be encouraged to apply according to the stipulated time.
Also speaking, Acting Education, Minister Latim Da-Thong challenged educators to remain steadfast for the advancement of the Country’s education system. Additionally, the Deputy Minister of Education for Administration, stressed that this is the rightful time for our teachers to be honored and respected throughout the Republic of Liberia for their tiredless efforts and sacrifices for the growth and development of the upcoming generation.
He urged  Liberians to Respect and show love to all teachers regardless of their level of which they are performing their duties. He finally salutes all bonafide teachers to remain committed, ethical and morally upright for the transformation of our education system.
Application for the Liberia National Best Teacher’s Awards has since been opened until June 24,2023, as deadline.
After the prescribed deadline for self nomination, the first level scrutiny of all the applications will be done by DSC headed by the County Education Officer and monitored by Technical Working committee (TWG) of the Awards Committee.
Meanwhile, it’s hard to believe that the first winner of the awards will receive whooping two million Liberian Dollars and other benefits.
Henceforth, this award was firstly instituted in the year 2021/2022 to felicitate and honor remarkable teachers and head masters in their quests to improve the quality of Education and enrich their student’s learning experiences.
Nominated teachers are active school teachers and Heads of schools working in recognized ( registered in line with Government’s policy) Primary, Junior, and Senior Secondary Schools under the following categories: Public Schools, Private Schools, Faith Based Schools and Community Schools.
