CECPAP ends TOT W’Shop in Gbarnga

The Center for Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding (CECPAP) has ended cluster two training of trainers (TOT) workshop in Gbarnga, Bong County, with participants vowing to become ambassadors for anti-voter trucking and peaceful election.
According to a release issued by CECPAP, the participants pledged their full support to working alongside with the Center to ensure voter trucking and electoral violence do not occur in the up coming Presidential  and Legislative Elections slated for October of this year.
The participants said they have come to the logical conclusion that voter trucking and electoral violence do not auger well for Liberia’s emerging democracy and as such they will do all within their power to ensure their respective communities have no place for voter trucking and electoral violence, adding “we will expose anyone engaging in these anti-democratic acts in our society.”
Cluster Two TOT workshop brought together participants from Lofa, Nimba and Bong Counties. The Gbarnga ToT workshop taught participants on various topics such as Promoting Peaceful Electoral Environment Through Conflict Prevention and Resolution, Anti-Human Trafficking and Migrants Smuggling, Community Policing, Voter Trucking and Basic Border Management, Election Integrity, Analyzing Social Media News Content, among others.
Meanwhile, cluster three ToT workshop kicks off this week in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County.  Participants taking part in cluster three training session will come from Grand Gedeh, River Gee, and Maryland Counties.
The workshop is being held under the theme: Promoting Peaceful Electoral Environment and Community Security in Liberia. The training session will endeavor to build capacity development for joint security actors, local authorities, women, and youth groups to reinforce peace corridors in identified hotspot areas including boarder communities to respond to risk associated with potential issues arising from voter trucking.
The TOT workshop is being organized and facilitated by CECPAP with funding provided by the UN Peacebuilding Fund. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is supervising the implementation of the workshop.
