As He breaks the “Curse”, Several Nimbaians back Weah’s Re-election Bid

As President George Manneh Weah at the weekend broke the “curse” to connect Mahdiaplay in Electoral District #4 to Yao Lehpuelah in Electoral District #5 though the auxiliary group under the banner “Nimba for Weah 2023” (NFW2023), several citizens of the county have pledged support to his (Weah) re-election.

The citizens, especially from the two districts, vowed to support the incumbent’s re-election and to ensure that he is re-elected at the October polls for bringing relief to the district after 23 Years of struggle with bad roads.

In a statement presented by one  Joe Langar on behalf of the people under the topic: “Que San Poeh (the curse is broken),” the citizens lauded the Liberian chief executive through the auxiliary group (MFW2023) for what they described as a timely intervention on their request.

According to them, the road connectivity will enable citizens to now transport their goods and others from farm to the market, hence, this will greatly contribute the economic growth of the district, the county and the country at large.

Like any auxiliary groups, NFW2023 is working with the ruling Coalition for Democracy Change (CDC) and others to ensure the re-election of President Weah, and so the landmark project is a signature tone to help get the job done.

Mark Thomas Dokie, Chairman of NFW2023,  in a brief statement during the project's ground breaking in Yao Tiaplay Town over week said, the President's intervention to rehabilitate the Mahdiaplay District 4 to Yao Lehpuelah District 5 corridor through the NFW 2023 movement comes in the wake of citizens request made during the auxiliary late April tour in the district on Biometric Voter  Registration awareness.

He pointed out that NFW2023, being a political organization working for the re-election of President Weah, whom he described as bad roads medicine, after discovering that part of Buu-Yao was cut off due to deplorable road condition, was left with no option but to immediately inform the president for his intervention to prove to the people that he's indeed a bad roads medicine.

Accordingly, the ground breaking and immediate commencement of the project ceremony coupled with several activities including peace tournament amongst others held in Yao Tiaplay Town, brought together thousands of citizens from the four original chiefdoms in Buu-Yao (Wea, Yao, Nyor and Nekweah).

In consonance with Article 77(b) of the Liberian Constitution – the organic law of the country, Liberians will go to the polls on October 10, 2023 to elect a President and Vice President, 73 Representatives and 15 Senators in the much-publicized 2023 Presidential and Legislative Elections
