A local manager of Home Lib Cargo Service has been exonerated from further criminal investigation, as there was no evidence to link him to the crimes.

According to a police confirmation clearance issued on February 10, 2023 by the Criminal Services Department of the Liberia National Police, a copy of which is in the possession of this paper/station, Consignees Benjamin Burphy, Varney Boakai and Abraham M. Kamara have been charged to court for the shipment of counterfeit banknotes from Dubai pending trial.

It can be recalled that on October 14, 2022,  Samuel Carlor,  a local businessman was linked to a fake Liberian Banknotes Case when he went to pick up a package on behalf of his company, Home Lib Cargo Service at the Roberts International Airport(RIA) which was shipped by the three consignees Benjamin, Varney and Abraham, who  according to Police investigation,  concealed One Million,  Three Hundred Thirty-Three Thousand  One Hundred Liberian Dollars (L$1, 333, 100.00) counterfeit banknotes from Dubai

The Report revealed, " during further investigation  on December 8, 2022, statements were taken from Suspect Varney Boakai, an employee of Abou Jaudi ERA Supermarket, an unknown resident of 9th Street, Sinkor , as well as Benjamin Burphy who once resided on GSA Road, the consignee who packaged the fake consignment from Dubai.”

Meanwhile, the exonerated Liberian Businessman Samuel Carlor took to his Facebook Account to thank God for clearing his name, as well as family and friends who stood by him.

Mr. Carlo  also used the occasion to call on other Liberians involved into shipping business to be mindful of what they take delivery of, as criminals are always out there to tarnish the reputation of others.
