Man mobbed to Death

The Magistrate Ben L. Barco of the Monrovia City Court has sent to jail a man identified as James Walker for allegedly mobbing a private guard security officer Emmanuel Nyeingar to death. 

This incident occurred on October 18, 2023 in the Baptist Seminary Community. 

Defendant Walker’s action, according to the Liberia National Police (LNP), violated Chapter 14, sub-Chapter A, and section 14.1 of the Revised Penal Law of the Republic of Liberia. 

Based upon said action or connection he (Defendant Walker) was  arrested, acquainted with his constitutional rights, investigated and charged with murder  (Mob-Violence). 

According to a police charge sheet, on the  said date mentioned above,  the late Emmanuel Nyeingar, a resident of Towel Hill Community along the RIA-Highway was a private guard service owned  at  Town Bakery. Leaving work during the early hours, he was seen within the Baptist Seminary Community. 

Just within that time, community dwellers suspected the victim of being a motorcycle rogue. They began shouting “Rogue Rogue” on the victim and they captured and mobbed him to death. Sadly, defendant Walker was the last to stone,  which allegedly resulted to his death. 

The charge Sheet said the community dwellers instructed defendant Walker to remove the body from the yard the incident occurred. The defendant obeyed through the help of Cyrus Dahn and relocated the body to the nearby yard. 

It stated that some of the community dwellers, who were not on the scene, were informed of a dead body being discovered. The Community Chairman - Mark Feahgbay led the search.  

On Saturday, October 20, 2023, the Chairman invited defendant Walker and questioned about the incident. Later, he turned over the defendant to the Liberia National Police at Zone 8 Station and subsequently transferred at the central Police Station October 23, 2023, for further investigation into the Murder of the late Emmanuel Nyeingar.

According to defendant Walker, he was in door with his fiancée Roselyn Sayewah, commonly called "Handful", at her Baptist Seminary residence about 12:00AM when he heard people shouting in the community "rogue, rogue" at which time his girlfriend "Handful" woke him and informed him about the alarms in their community.

He narrated that he then decided get and when he arrived at the scene of the alarms, he met the yard owner Cyrus Dahn, Prince, Kwamie and others to be identified along  with the victim lying on the ground. He ( defendant Walker) took a stone and threw it and hit the victim's back to know whether he was alive or not, but when the stone hit the victim, there was no sign/s of life in him. 


While trying returned home, the yard owner - Cyrus, prince, Kwamie and others that were there demanded him to remove the body before leaving. “He tried to resist, but they were outnumbered and for fear of their threats against him, he decided to avoid them by taking the victim from his (Cyrus' yard through the help of Kwamie and they took the victim at the ABC' school campus and left him there.” 

On Monday, October 23, 2023, when the case was transferred at the Central Police Headquarters Cyrus Dahn who was then a person of interest was informed by the investigators to bring his wife get statements as to why she hastily removed the blood from the crime scene, after her husband Cyrus Dahn demanded defendant James to remove the body from the primary crime scene in the absence of the police to a secondary crime scene.

Since Cyrus Dahn left the police Headquarter on 27th October 2023 as per the request to bring his wife, he hasn’t be seen along with his wife and his whereabouts is unknown. Adding that their phone are also off. 

The charge sheet furthered that as for defendants Kelvin W. Cooper aka "Rickey" and Tawoe Harris who were apprehended by the community Chairman and others based upon their alleged involvement. They 
denied being involve in the murder of the late Emmanuel Nyeingar, but stated that they came out based upon the noise of rogue in their community, which claims was corroborated by the prime defendant James their alleged Walker.

According to eye witnesses, chairlady Willimina Yellow Ziama and others, when they heard the alarm rogue in their community, they went out to see the rogue and what the noise was about. Surprisingly, 
they saw the victim with defendant James Walker per the request of the yard owner (Cyrus Dahn) and his wife Mamunie to remove the body. 

Police revealed that the deceased, who was perceived of being a motorbike thief had no connection of stealing or attempted to steal motorbike. He was a private guard service personnel of the Effective Guard Service was seen at Baptist Seminary at night on October 18, 2023 about 0100Hrs, and mugged on suspicion of being a motorbike thief.

The victim/deceased body was preserved by family members at the Alfred N. Bulter's Funeral Home. 

Additionally, the investigations recommended that defendants Tawoe Harris and Kelvin Cooper be exonerate from this ongoing investigation, due to lack of sufficient evidence as yet, to link them to the murder case under probe.

Meanwhile, the investigation has resolved to charge defendant James Walker
with the crime of Murder (Mob-Violence), for his complicity into the circumstances surrounding the death of the late Emmanuel Nyeingar, which act of the revised Penal contravenes Chapter 14, Sub-chapter A, and section 14. Court of competent law of the Republic of Liberia, pending trial by a jurisdiction. While defendants Prince aka "fat boy", Henry Doe aka "Big boy", Kwamie, Mitchell, Cyrus Dahn and others who are currently at large, are charged likewise in absentia.
