In Connection to Armed Robbery Incident at Her Brewerville Residence, Cllr. Scott, Others risk Legal Action If…

The Liberia National Police(LNP) has invited former Chief Justice, Gloria Musu Scott, Gertrude Newton, Rebecca Youdeh Wisner and Alice Johnson for further questioning at the Headquarters of the LNP in connection to the alleged armed robbery incident at the home of the former Chief Justice, which resulted to the untimely death of Miss. Charloe Musu on February 22, 2023.

According to a press release issued in Monrovia and signed by  H. Moses Carter, Sr., Head,  Press and Public Affairs (U-122), the LNP urged  the former Chief Justice and all occupants of her home, as named above to avail themselves at the Headquarters of the LNP not later than 10:00 AM today, Friday, March 3, 2023.

Meanwhile, the LNP warned that the failure on their part to honor this invitation, the LNP will be left with no option but to take appropriate legal actions through the court of law.

The Heritage reliably learnt that  Cllr. Scott and some of her relatives are supposedly refusing to talk to  the police investigators of the  LNP regarding the attack and murder that took place at her Brewerville Residence.
It can be recalled that on Wednesday, February 22, armed robbers attacked former Chief Justice Scott’s  Brewerville’s  Residence, outside Monrovia, which led to the death of her daughter, Charloe Musu.

The attack, which is said to be the third in a wave of attacks reported by her, has since been widely condemned by Liberians from all walks of life, with many expressing their sympathy over the death of  Charloe Musu.

The Liberians, including the opposition and civil society organizations have called on the Government of Liberia(GoL) through the LNP to leave no stone unturned in speedily bringing to justice perpetrators of the tear jerking incident so as to serve as a deterrence for others who may want to engage into similar sinister act.

As the LNP continues its investigation into the heartbreaking incident, credible sources within the LNP confided in the Heritage that Cllr. Scott and few of her nephews who were at their Brewerville Residence when the incident occurred, are said to be refusing to talk to the  police investigators concerning the incident.

Our police sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, divulged that as a result of the alleged refusal by Cllr. Scott and few of her nephews to talk to the police, the police investigators are finding it difficult to continue with the ongoing probe.

‘‘The LNP  has appealed to Madam Scott and her surviving nephews  to make themselves available to the government( Ministry of Justice/ Liberia National Police) for investigation in order to establish the  facts, and circumstance surrounding such attack, but to no avail,’’ the police sources further divulged to the Heritage.

“ We hope that those four females occupants that were in the house during the incident including the former Chief Justice will accord our investigators the necessary corporation as this investigation seeks to ensure that the perpetrators are  made to face the full weight of the law. And so, we are hopeful that the former Chief Justice along with the other females will speak to our investigator in the sonnet possible time, ’’  our sources, among other things, added.
It  is not clear why Madam Scott and her nephews are reportedly refusing to talk to the police investigators, an action, which is said to be undermining the ongoing investigation.
In an interview with the media following the tear-jerking incident, Cllr. Scout questioned the motive of her attempted assassination as she mourns her daughter who got killed in the mayhem. ‘‘What did I do, my people what did I do to people that they want my life? Y’all please ask the question Y’all who on my side. What are you people hearing that I did? I don’t want to be President, I don’t want to be Senator or Chairman of any political party here, so why are they after me?,’’  the former Chief Justice of Liberia uttered.    FWhat dRONT SLIDERNEWS

The former Chief Justice currently serves as the Lead Counsel of the Senator Nyonblee Karnga Lawrence’s faction of the opposition Liberty Party(LP), pleading legal cases filed against Senator Lawrence and the others by the party’s Chairman Mr. Musa Hassan Bility. For nearly three years now, the Liberty Party has been involved in controversies following the election of businessman turned-politician, Musa Hassan Bility, who has been accused of allegedly altering the party’s constitution, an allegation Mr. Bility has since rubbished.
The persistent armed robbery attacks on the home of Cllr. Scott would claim her life and the lives of other family members if the government continues to play deaf ears to the need to provide security for her and her immediate family members in the midst of a politically charged terrain and either ongoing or pending high-profile political cases ahead of the elections slated for October of this year. These attacks appear to be intimidation tactics being implored by some perceived political opponents to acquire sensitive legal documents, and discourage or get rid of Cllr.  Scott.
