‘I don’t know the Ex- Chief Justice Home’ …says Varlee Telleh, denies link to the incident

Days after series of concerns from the public relating the death of former Chief Justice Gloria Musu Scott’s daughter death, and with accusing fingers at Varlee Telleh, an officer of the Monrovia City Police (MCP), the accused has denied knowing the home of Madam Scott. 
Speaking in an interview at the Headquarters of the Liberia National Police (LNP) on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, Mr. Telleh said despite living in the Brewersville area, he has no idea on the said location of Cllr. Scott’s residence.  
This statement comes days after the former Chief Justice Scott home was attacked three times and her daughter stabbed multiple times of which resulted to her death- Charloe Musu.  
Cllr. Jerome Verdier, the former Chairman of the erstwhile Truth and Reconciliation Commission(TRC),  alleged that Mr. Telleh is behind such attack and masterminded by the  MCC Boss Jefferson 
Koijee. 
He furthered denied sending any threatening text message to Aryouba Dukuly, a Journalist, asserting that the account used to send said message is fake account. 
When questioned by Journalists about knowing Shieck Sackor who linked him(Telleh) as the alleged suspect with said crime, Mr. Telleh replied, “I know Sackor being a black money businessman working in Guinea.”
 “The man who tried to give my profile to Cllr. Verdier is my friend since 1994. We fought war together in1994, 1995, and April 6 war. He was the one who took me to Mayor Koijee,”  Mr. Telleh stated. 
At the same time, Cllr. Arthur Johnson, who is the lawyer representing the MCC Boss, said Koijee has no link to said allegations rather they are using this to damage his character. 
 “Mayor Koijee has no link to any act of assassination against the former Chief Justice,” Cllr. Johnson maintained. 
Addressing the press at the Headquarters of the LNP, Cllr. Johnson pointed out that Mayor Koijee believes in the professionalism of the Liberia National Police (LNP) to investigate the matter. 
He furthered that the MCC Boss is not above the law so he availed  himself to the Police for questioning of his side of the story- allegations levied against him.
He narrated  that the  police has not yet produced evidence linking his client, but his presence at the Headquarter was to exonerate himself from the propaganda against himself as mayor.
 “When a crime is committed it is committed against the state, as such, every person of interest must make themselves available to assist with the investigation, ”he said. 

At the same time, Cllr. Johnson went on to register his sympathy to the former Chief Justice and condemned the act meted out  against the former Chief Justice, describing it as barbaric.

He called on all those who have information in connection with the investigation to assist the police with said information, asserting that the act  is about national concern.

“The attack on the former Chief Justice must be condemned, deboned, criticized because it is bad. But there is a need for the former Chief Justice Gloria Musu Scott to avail herself to the police to assist with the investigation.” He averred. 

Meanwhile, Cllr. Johnson cautioned the  former Chief Justice  to avail herself  and others  for police questioning in connection with the incident.
