Foreign Minister Kemayah holds Talks With Qatar Fund For Development Executive Director 

Liberia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr., held a bilateral meeting with the Executive Director of Qatar Fund for Development His Excellency, Khalifa bin Kassim Al-Kuwari in Doha, Qatar.

According to a dispatch from Qatar, the meeting was centered on the recent assessment visit to Liberia by the representatives of the Qatar Fund for Development. Executive Director Al- Kuwari welcome and assured Foreign Minister Kemayah of readiness of Qatar Fund for Development to contribute positively towards Liberia's development initiative.  

In response to Foreign Minister Kemayah's invitation, Mr. Al-Kuwari further assured Ambassador Kemayah that he will lead a Delegation of Qatar Fund for Development to Liberia after December 2022 to hold further bilateral talks on the priority of the Government of Liberia, for support by Qatar Fund for Development and implementations, stressing that both countries will work together in areas of mutual interests to further strengthen their bilateral ties. 

Foreign Minister Kemayah and Executive Director Al-Kuwari discussed the need for cooperation in the areas of education, Agriculture infrastructural development, as well as Women empowerment.

For his part, Foreign Minister Kemayah expressed thanks and appreciation to Mr. Al-Kuwari for the warm reception, and conveyed a message of congratulations on behalf of Dr. George Manneh Weah, President of Liberia and the Government and people of Liberia to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Emir of Qatar, people and the Government of Qatar, for successfully organizing and hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Speaking earlier, Foreign Minister Kemayah commended the Government of Qatar for level of cooperation subsisting between the two countries and stressed the need to further strengthen cooperation in areas of healthcare, Agriculture, infrastructure development, economic development, education, women and youth development, capacity building, and diplomacy.  

"We look forward to a fruitful working relationship between our two countries," Foreign Minister Kemayah emphasized.
