Liberia: Hundreds of Females storm BTC for Recruitment Exercise Featured

Hundreds of females between 18-35 years on Monday, November 22, 2021 stormed the Barclay Training Center (BTC) on United Nations Drive to be enlisted to participate in the preparatory physical exercise that is being conducted by the Armed Forces of Liberia ahead of the main recruitment drive.

The Armed Forces of Liberia is expected to commence a nationwide recruitment drive intended to increase the size of the Liberian military.

According to Assistant Defense Minister for Public Affairs at the Ministry of National Defense Sam K. Collins, “The preparatory training exercise is expected to build the capacity of females residing in Montserrado County. Females in other parts of Liberia will take a preparatory aptitude test ahead of the main recruitment process that is expected to be announced at a later date.”

The Assistant Defense Minister was quick to point out that those participating in the preparatory exercise are not guaranteed a space doing the time of the main recruitment process, but will be enlisted into the AFL based on merit during the main recruitment drive.

Mr. Collins described the large turned out of females as encouraging; adding "It shows that Liberian females, over the years, have develop passion to render service to their nation through active duty in the Armed Forces of Liberia”.

He disclosed that in the coming days the Armed Forces of Liberia will conduct preparatory aptitude test in the leeward counties for females interested in joining the AFL.

Meanwhile, the preparatory training exercise runs from the November 22, 2021- December 13, 2021.
