Emergency Situation Reported at FDA As Walls Bracing Tower Collapse, Management sends Caveat to the Public

As retaining walls supporting the east side of the FDA office complex and the foundation of the communication tower collapses, thereby posing danger to lives and properties, the Management of the Forestry Development Authority (FDA) has called on the general public to avoid using the route leading to its main complex located in Whein Town, Paynesville, Montserrado County given the glaring sign of emergency which need to be addressed with immediacy.

The tower was reportedly erected by the ministry of Finance some years ago and was being used monitor the collection of revenue intakes.

FDA has established contacts with Ministry of Justice, Public Safety Division, the Liberian Fire Service, Liberian National Police, and other stakeholders to collectively assesses and address this emergency. National Police, the Ministry of Justice, the Liberian Fire Service and all concerned to visit the scene in order to advise on necessary preventive measures.

Additionally, the FDA has requested the Ministry of Public Works to open existing alleys as alternative route to its main office complex, because according to the management, “Prevention is the preferred option in life than to cure or repair damages.”
