The SKD Sports Complex based club overcame Vision Sisters 2-1 in the match of the weekend to remain the only team in the upper division of the LKF League to remain undefeated after 12 rounds of matches. With the first inning ending scoreless between both sides, in-form striker Ruth Sonpon proved her worth with a powerful ground shot that beat the Vision Sisters' defensive wall to push established last starter Alane Koffa and first striker Macken Gibson to home base to take a 2-0 lead.
The resilient Vision Girls came up strongly in their second inning and managed to squeeze in one home from star player Korto Boye, but the two homes from the two sisters (Alane and Macken) were sufficient to give the defensive CYE all three points. The win means CYE are in second place with equal points of 26 with league leaders God's Anointed. The Duport Road based club went on top of the table with superior two homes following the forfeit by Bushrod Island side Zion Sisters. By failing to show up for the match, God's Anointed were awarded three points and five homes.
In other results, 72nd based Young Star Sports Club International (YSSCI) fought back from 4-0 down to settle to a 4-4 draw with Fendall side Blacktom. It was a good weekend for Aries as she overpowered second bottom of the table Mighty Giant 7-0 homes. Angel of the Sky Ask Sisters struggled again on the weekend by surrendering a 1-0 first inning lead to settle things up with Success 1-1. Supreme Girls found it difficult to beat struggling bottom of the table Sirius 3-2 homes in what was thought to have been a run-over win for the yellow and black girls. Meanwhile, defending champions Amazon were well beaten 4-1 by Royal Sisters of St. Paul Bridge. The win takes Royal to third place, just three points adrift God's Anointed and CYE.
