According to Senator Wesseh, the situation of young Liberian women to the Middle Eastern State of Oman where they are terribly exploited, abused and dehumanized is totally unacceptable.
In an attempt to quickly rescue the young girls, Senator Wesseh is admonishing his colleagues in the Liberian Senate to take concrete steps to address their condition.
In an official communication to the plenary, which was read during the 39th Day Sitting, 5th Session Tuesday, July 19, 2022, the River Gee County Senator indicated that, ''those in connection of the scheme to get our children out of there under false impression must face justice''.
Plenary is the higest decision making body of the Liberian Senate, which is also referred to as the Upper House.
Meanwhile, the River Gee Lawmaker has called on his fellow members of the Liberian Senate to take Legislative action to compell the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Justice to report to the Liberian Senate to provide explanation on what is happening to Liberian citizens in Oman.
At the same time, Grand Bassa County Senator, Nyonblee Karnga Lawrence, has added her voice to Senator Wesseh's communication, calling for urgent step to bring back home those young Liberian women who are currently facing hardship in Oman.
