In COVID-19 Fight Chief Medical Officer Extols Grand Kru Health System

MONROVIA. LIBERIA -Liberia’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Francis Kateh, has extolled the Grand Kru County Chapter of the Incident Management Team for its efforts in combating the coronavirus pandemic in the county.

Dr. Kateh also commended citizens and local stakeholders of Grand Kru County for their collective efforts in combating the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Liberia Chief Medical Officer stressed the need for more innovative and creative ways in mobilizing resources. Dr. Kateh noted that such mobilization will help buttress the efforts of health authorities to fill the gap of the County Health Team, given the constraints they are faced with in the fight against the Coronavirus. Dr. Kateh encouraged Grand Kru Superintendent Doris Ylatun to begin engaging members of the County Legislative Caucus, business community and concession companies to assist the County Health Team in the fight against the disease through collective resource mobilization.
Dr. Kateh extolled the Grand Kru County Incident Management Team and the County Health Officer, Dr. Woyee Wreh, for their effort in combating the virus. He indicated that the county is in red, and there is no need for citizens to put on a full compliance posture, as they have been mandated to follow all the health guidelines. Grand Kru County has recorded four new confirmed cases of the virus. Meanwhile, the Chief Medical Officer, a native of Grand Kru County, has stressed that the fight against COVID-19 requires collective approach, adding that the Coronavirus pandemic has created global financial constraints even in developed countries.
