Make Maximum Use of Your Acquired Skills and Knowledge

The need for Liberian youths to make maximum use of vocational training cannot be overstated, as this is another way we think that people, especially young people can realize their potentials and make them more productive citizens to contribute meaningfully to the economic growth and development of the Liberian society.

In this vein, we want to encourage all those young people who have acquired vocational skills in various disciplines, including soap-making, pastry and catering to make maximum use of the acquired skills and knowledge.

On the other hand, we want to also encourage those young people who have the desire of acquiring vocational skills and knowledge to do so as it is important for their future development.

While we sincerely acknowledge the constraints and challenges, the youths, which we understand the constitute 64% of the Liberian population – making them key players in the country’s future, must leave no stone unturned in this future endeavor.

Difficulties in finding jobs after school have led to disillusionment among the Liberian youths. Only about 25% of youths are absorbed into the job market annually.

The solution is to provide opportunities for youths to improve their own well-being once they have the requisite skills and knowledge.

To this end, we call on the Government and partners to support vocational skills -training that will positively impact the lives of Liberian youths.

Frankly, skills training will add value to their lives, as well as make them productive citizens who are prepared to contribute meaningfully to the growth and economic development of the country.
