China Gives Anti-COVID-19 Materials to Office of Vice President

The Government of the People’s Republic of China, through its Ambassador to Liberia, Ren Yusheng, has donated a consignment of Anti-COVID-19 materials to the office of the Vice President of Liberia.

The materials include desktop computers, kits of Love for Children, clothing and cartons of instant noodles, among others.
Making the presentation recently at the Chinese Embassy near Monrovia, Ren said the donation is part of China's humanitarian aid to Liberia.
However, he revealed that the medical supplies that are part of the donated items have gone through the most stringent Chinese manufacturing standard.
He hopes that the donation would benefit the Group of 77 and other critical institutions under the supervision of the office of the Vice President of Liberia.
Ren noted that COVID-19 is raging worldwide and is causing severe threats to the health, safety, and well-being of hundreds of millions of people.
The Chinese envoy further mentioned that the Chinese Government highly appreciates the support by the Weah-led Government amidst these challenging times.
He referenced the administering of COVID tests, treatment, and vaccination by the health authorities of Liberia to the Chinese nationals working and living in Liberia.
Amb. Ren particularly praised Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor for empowering the women of Liberia through education and other livelihood opportunities in the country.
He then named institutions in China that donated the materials as the All-China Women Federation, China Federation of Persons with Disabilities, China Charity Federation, Hangzhou Moonse Technology Group Co. Ltd, Shanghai M&G Stationery Co. Ltd, Shanghai Zhonghua Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd, Qinhuangdao Fushou Food Ltd, and the TING HSIN Foundation.
Receiving the donation, VP Howard-Taylor expressed the government's gratitude to Ambassador Ren, the Government, and the people of China, for the gift while assuring Ambassador Ren that the donation would be used for the intended purpose.
“We want to say thank you; we wish that Liberia and China bilateral relations will move from strength-to-strength, as we adhere to the one-China Policy. We are partners; we will work with you for both countries to succeed on behalf of the people of Liberia. We want to say thank you, and please convey our message of gratitude to our brothers and sisters in the People's Republic of China,” Vice President Howard-Taylor said.
