The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Grand Cape Mount County Senator, Varney Nambi Gboto Sherman, has termed the free tuition policy at publicly-run tertiary institutions as a complete abuse and misuse of the country’s resources. Senator Sherman asserted that there is a serious need that the policy be revisited, because according to him, it lacks purpose and corresponding responsibilities.

The Director of UNESCO Regional Office in Abuja, Osuji Otu has said at a forum in the Liberian capital that students have declined greatly when it comes to the sciences, thus leading to failure during public examples. “Science subjects in school has declined, students are more focus on arts,” said Mr. Otu at the start of three days training organized by UNESCO for some 60 science teachers in Liberia on Wednesday, April 17, 2019.

A Liberian academic currently residing in the United States and an expert on conflict and peace studies, Dr. Sam Wai Johnson, has been announced winner of a prestigious award for authoring an article in Peace Economics Peace Science and Public Policy (PEPS).
Dr. Johnson is from the George Mason University in the US.

In an effort to effectively professionalize and improve the educational system of Liberia, the Ministry of Education has informed all 12th Graders that the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Mock Examination will be administered on tomorrow, Friday, March 29, 2019, commencing 8:00 AM prompt. In a press release, the ministry said all students are cautioned to assemble at their various centers where they have been attending the WASSCE tutorial classes.
