We unconditionally condemn the July 26 Street Violence

We join all well meaning and peaceful Liberians, including pro-democracy and civil society organizations in the country in unconditionally condemning in the strongest term the street violence that happened in Monrovia on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 involving two rival groups purporting to be some students of the University of Liberia(UL) campus-based Students Unification Party (SUP) and the CDC-COP.

Like some of our compatriots, we too think there is absolutely no justification for anyone to be brutalized by others for expressing their views regardless of how their opponents feel and that such barbaric act has no place in any civilized society.
While we commend the Government of Liberia(GoL), through the Ministry of Justice(MoJ), for also condemning the July 26 Street Violence, we, on the other hand, call on the GoL to immediately arrest and prosecute all of the perpetrators of the street violence that turned bloody.

The GoL, we insist, must leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the perpetrators are arrested and prosecuted in keeping with the Due Process of Law so as to serve as a deterrence.

To this end, we again condemn the July 26 Street Violence and hope that the GoL will speedily get at the bottom of this uncivilized act, which has the propensity to undermine the peace and stability of the country.
