Dr. Morris Koffa, who is the Executive Director of Africa Environmental Watch, strongly underscored that we, as citizens, must ensure that our surroundings are clean.
Environmentalist Koffa acknowledged that while the Government of Liberia(GoL) bears the responsibility for policy and providing finance, we, as citizens, must also bear the biggest responsibility of maintaining our environments by keeping them clean as possible always.
As a means of buttressing the efforts of the GoL regarding the old age soid waste management, Dr. Koffa disclosed that a partnership of concerned Liberian environmental groupings based in the United States of America (USA) are due in the country soon to help in the process.
While in the country, he mentioned that his group will work with densely populated cities in different cleaning up exercises.
For us, we welcome the appeal by the renowned Liberian environmentalist for all hands to be on deck in helping to address our old age sanitation challenges.
We consider his appeal as prudent, and therefore, encourage all to embrace it because it has do to with the upliftment of our beloved country, Liberia.
We all must help clean our environments and must not continue to take the back seats and leave everything with the government.
We all need to buttress the efforts of the government through other relevant agencies, including the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC) in keeping our homes, communities and cities clean.
By buttressing the efforts of the government, we will also be contributing our quota to the development of our country.
