Arts Connection to uncover hidden talents in Liberia

Arts Connection, a Liberian own established arts institution aimed at uncovering Liberians with talents in any talented area, is expected to be launched in Liberia soon.

Liberians with various hiding talents and those actively in the art industry are all expected to grace the ceremony, which will be held in December of this year.

Speaking to this medium recently at the Headquarters of Arts Connection in Monrovia, the Executive Director of Arts Connection, D. Peter T. Dolobah, disclosed that the organization was established to help Liberians who have talents but cannot afford to market or showcase their talents to the public.

He explained that Arts Connection seeks to expose any Liberian with that given talents to the world, something he stressed will promote the image of the country, thereby putting it on the world map.

Being a young Liberian with in the Arts industry, Mr. Dolobah claimed he has discovered that many young Liberians have great talents but they don’t have financial support, and as the result, their talents remain in them forever.

He admonished young people of Liberia to take advantage of the Arts Connection in showcasing their talents for the betterment of their future.

Arts Connection, according to him, will conduct a talent competition among people with skills in different areas of arts.

He said the talent competition will consider young people between the ages of 10 to 50 years with hidden talents and there will be international and local judges to determine the winner of the competition.

He said there will a package for the first and second place winner.

The Arts Connection executive director then called on the Government of Liberia(GoL) to support the arts industry in the country so as to put the country on the world map.

As a Liberian, Mr. Dolobah stated that he has travelled to some European countries and had learnt some new things within the arts industry which he has come to share with his fellow compatriots.

Moreover, he indicated that the GoL cannot employee everyone, and therefore, there is a need to support those with talents in order for them to end their living through their God’s given talents.

Meanwhile, a young Liberian music artist, Emmanuel Carto, has embraced the idea of Dolobah to establish the Arts Connection in Liberia.

Carto, who has joined the Arts Connection, then called on Liberians to take this opportunity very seriously, saying talent is a career.

Accordingly, Carto disclosed that Liberia is leaving behind in the Arts industry because of lack of support to those with brilliant talents.

He called on the GoL to fully support the relevant entities responsible for arts so as to put the country on the globe through arts.

During the planned talents competition, Carto intoned that people with brilliant talents will be given the opportunity to have their performance witnessed live on Arts Connection YouTube page and other social media.

At the same time, Artist Teddy Jackson told the Hot Pepper Newspaper that Arts needs a collective support to expose young Liberian with talents. He also expressed his fullest support to the Arts Connection.
