In the massage to His Majesty King Felipe VI, King of Spain, President Weah noted that as, “ we reflect on the devastation the Corona-virus pandemic (COVID-19) has cause the world, it is our ardent prayer that Liberia and the Kingdom of Spain will work ever closer within the spirit of bilateral and multilateral cooperation to eradicate this global pandemic which has serious effects on our social and economic well-being.”
President Weah also applaud the friendly relations subsisting between the peoples of Liberia and Spain and pray that this will continue to grow from strength to strength for the benefit of our mutual cooperation in these spheres agriculture, capacity building and infrastructural development.
In a related development, President Weah has also sent a message of congratulations to His Excellency Mr. Funio Kishida, Prime Minister elect on the occasion of the unanimous election as Prime Minister of Japan.
In the massage to the His Excellency Famio Kishda, Prime Minister Elect, the Liberian Leader expressed no doubt that his victory is a manifestation of the confidence his compatriots have in your leadership ability and the record of your achievements, in this context, the people of the Republic of Liberia commend the gallant People of Japan for the peaceful and orderly transition, demonstrating Japan’s maturity in the promotion of governance and the democratic process.
According to the Foreign Ministry release, the President noted he’s confident that under the capable administration of His Excellency Famio Kishda, Prime Minister Elect, notably as a distinguished and seasoned leader the cordial relations which so happily exist between our two countries will continue be strengthened for the mutual benefit of the peoples of Liberia and Japan.
Meanwhile, Dr. Weah has sent a message of congratulations to His Excellency Mr. Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister elect on the occasion of the unanimous election as Prime Minister of Ethiopia.
In the massage to His Excellency Mr. Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister-elect, Dr. Weah extended warmest congratulations on the occasion of the re-election as Prime Minister of the great country of Ethiopia and noted that the re-election to this important portfolio is a testimony of your continued dedication to the wellbeing and prosperity of the people of Ethiopia and commitment to the development of Africa.
The Liberian Leader entertained the hope that as the Prime Minister-elect continues this herculean task of leading his people in this rapidly changing age, Liberia hopes that Ethiopia will continue to play a prominent role in global affairs as “we work together particularly in the fight against the raging coronavirus pandemic and that our two peoples will nurture new frontiers in our already existing bilateral ties and continue to promote peace and security in keeping with the principles of the African union (AU), and the United Nations (UN)”.
