Speaking to Executive Mansion reporters on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, Deputy Presidential Press Secretary, Mr. Smith Toby, disclosed that President Weah will not rig any elections.
“He will go to the process in a free, fair and transparent manner and he trusts the National Elections Commission(NEC) to do its work to the core,” Toby further disclosed.
While describing as “dull vision/prophesy” and allegation by Senator Johnson that President Weah will rig the 2023 Elections, Toby averred that the Nimba lawmaker spoke out of anger and needs to go back to bed and see if similar prophesy will be repeated.
“ Go back to bed and listen well, maybe you did not hear the Lord well or is misinterpreting him,” Toby said of PYJ’s prophesy. Toby wondered if the Lord, who is protecting Liberia’s current peace, will allow chaos and confusion in the land.
He reflected that Senator Johnson, who is generally referred to as PYJ, usually makes such public statements whenever he(PYJ) feels that things are not going his way.
The Deputy Presidential Press Secretary averred that Senator Johnson, as part of the political marriage with the CDC, sometimes ago submitted some names of his partisans to President Weah for appointment, but said names or listing for employment is being carefully looked at, saying it will take time.
He said the lawmaker cannot bear patient for it to happen.
Toby described Senator Johnson as a good friend of President Weah and Minister Nathaniel McGill and wondered why he(Senator Johnson) is he always in a rush.
It can be recalled that the Nimba lawmaker during a tour of his university project in Nimba County recently announced through a prophesy that President Weah will rig the 2023 Elections just to remain in power.
He also alleged that there will be chaos, destruction and confusion as the people will be dissatisfied.
