LFA Gets Transformation Under Raji ...As Awards Taken to Another Level

The nation’s football governing body – the Liberia Football Association (LFA) continues to receive major transformation under the stewardship of President Mustapha Raji. 
 
Raji, who is in his second term reign as head of the LFA, has transformed the Association in different ways ranging infrastructural development, human capacity development, increament of clubs’ financial benefits as well as stakeholders and players’ welfare. 
 
In  addition to all these, the annual football awards by the LFA have been taking to another, wherein winners of different categories of awards are being dignified in a special way as a means of motivating others pursue excellence. 
 
Improvements in the different awards categories at the just ended annual awards ceremony of the LFA 2023/24 National League season saw  five new awards added to the categories. Furthermore, winners of the Most Valuable Players in the male and female categories won for themselves one brand new vehicle each under the sponsorship of Doxxbet-Liberia Ltd. 
 
Speaking Wednesday, December 11, 2024, President Raji vowed that the LFA under his leadership will invest towards football development. 
 
He said investment is cardinal because it’s foremost singular means to improve the game across the country. 
 
The LFA President indicated that the lucrative cash awards and cars given to winners of the various categories of awards signifies the Association’s true intent to promoting football development. 
 
“We will invest whatever we receive from football into football. We are happy with the results. Those voted are the actual winners of our awards. We can assure you that funds received will be used by us in the most transparent way,” said Mr. Raji.
 
Mr. Raji then called on the Government of Liberia (GoL) to see reason to invest more in  football and other sports, adding: “I am happy and I promise to do more. We are hopeful that more will be done for Liberian football.”   
 
In remarks, the Chairman of the Board of Doxxbet-Liberia Ltd., Mr. Michal Frola, extolled the LFA and members of the 2024 Awards Committee for their tremendous work done. 
 
Frola then reaffirmed his company’s commitment to working with the LFA in different areas that tend to promote Liberian football. 
 
“We are very happy to work with LFA and we want to thank members of the Awards Committee for the tremendous work done. We are trying to increase our support to Liberian football as much as possible. We have been doing this over the years and we have plans for the future.” 
 
At the same time, the Chairperson of the LFA 2024 Awards Committee, Ambassador Christopher Hayes Onanuga, said the process of the awards was executed on the fundamental principle of fairplay and fairness. 
  
“We did our best for the awards. This was executed on the fundamental principle of fairplay and fairness. We established the rule of engagement prior to the awards. There were comments of turning the award into political manner or means of favoritism, but we were not bothered because we knew ourselves.” 
 
“We are 2,000 percent glad that we were not involved in anything clandestine. No stone was left unturned. We must take away politics from our sports. What we got was a near perfect event. We say near perfect because there are always rooms for improvement and we will improve on a lot of things next year.”
 
Meanwhile, Yaya Bility of Heaven Eleven Football Club and Erica Parson of Shaita Angels FC won the most prestigious MVPs in the male and female categories respectively, hence they took away one brand new car each. 
 
Speaking briefly to the media, both Bility and Erica lauded the LFA and the Awards Committee for the transparent manner and form the process was conducted. 
 
They also hailed the management of Doxxbet Liberia for the support to the sport and vowed to push harder to win more awards in the coming years.
