LKF Margibi Sub Committee kicks off in Full Swing

Liberia’s traditional sport, kickball, at the weekend drew the attention of several followers as the Margibi Sub-Committee of the Liberia Kickball Federation (LKF) 2023 National League Season got underway in Kakata City, Margibi County. 

The opening two days of the 2023 league season were occasioned by six intriguing encounters with fans of the game trooping at the Nancy B. Doe Sports Pitch to cheer their respective clubs to victory.  

In Saturday’s fixtures, defending champions Destiny Girls started on good footing with a comfortable 5-0 home victory against Dolo Town based Zion Sisters in the league’s opener. In game two, United Angel squared Future Girls 4-0 and Vision Sisters beat Quincy 5-2 homes.  

Further on Sunday, May 7, 2023, Future Girls recovered from Saturday’s slump to beat United Girls of Bong Mine 5-2. Destiny Girls got a second win to retain the top of the table with a 5-2 fought back victory, and Quincy Girls and United Angel settled to a scoreless draw.   

The league will continue at this coming weekend with some fascinating matches, but with the venue moving to Bong Mines. 

In those matches, United Girls take on Zion Sisters, Future Girls lock horns with Quincy and United Angel plays Destiny on Saturday, May 13, 2023. 

For Sunday’s fixture, May 14, United Girls battle Quincy Girls, Zion Sisters are up against Vision in the second match of the day and Future Girls engage Destiny in the last battle.
