LFA President ends Day-Long Engagement With Sports Journalists …encourages them to flag more issues to help improve the sector

Members of the Sports Writers Association of Liberia have successfully ended a one- day extensive media engagements with the President of the Liberia Football Association (LFA), Mustapha I. Raji.

Held at the new Headquarters of the LFA in Congo, outside Monrovia, the young and resourceful President of the LFA extemporaneously addressed key issues of the sector to include the just ended Congress, Sponsorship to the game, Support to the National Team as well as the new Headquarters projects respectively.

Very energized and focused on the issues, President Raji responded as well as addressed barrage of questions, concerns, inquiries including recommendations put forth by members of the Sports Writers Association of Liberia during the day- long interactive engagement.

Making his closing remarks, the Football House boss hailed Sports journalists for their work, which he stated, has helped over the period to make some improvements at the LFA.

Making reference to a journalist work relative to the scoreboard issue, Mr. Raji stated that the raising of said issue by the sports journalist greatly helped in  addressing  it.

"Your report can help accelerate growth within the sector so keep on your good work, negative or positive," he admonished sports journalists.

According or him, he welcomes criticism and always see it as a means of making him stronger and to ensure that he identify some of the problems within the criticism in order to have them adequately addressed.

Speaking about Members of the Executive Committee of the Liberia Football Association, Mr. Raji commended them for their sacrifices towards the growth and improvement of the game in Liberia.

EC members, he stressed,  now meet fewer times in order to discuss issues of the sector.

"Their contribution towards the sector is remarkable especially their key decisions towards the development of football in Liberia,” he emphasized.

Unlike before, EC members now make US$400.00 instead of US$250.00 but meet lesser time in order to reduce huge financial cost.

This decision, he clarified, was not taken by Executive Committee members rather by the stakeholders.

"If EC members will meet frequently as highlighted, we will be spending approximately US$5000 to US$6000 and it will not be in the interest of football development,’’ President Raji told sports journalists.
