GoL, Partner document 449 At-Risk Youths

Since August 21, 2023, when the Government of Liberia (GOL) its Partner officially started the voluntary recruitment of the At Risk youth, it was not an easy battle, yet it started on good and smooth  footing. Due to the professional manner in which the Technical Working Group of the At-Risk Youth program Team started the recruitment in four (4) of the 15 counties of Liberia, bulk of the disadvantaged youth also known as Zogos, trooped in for the voluntary recruitment process. 

Initially, 105 At-Risk Youth were voluntarily recruited   for the first  two weeks but as time went by, the number  continues to swell. 
 Currently, 449 disadvantaged youth have been Detoxified and Rehabilitated at various Rehab center around Monrovia and its surroundings counties. 

 The 449 have been recruitment from the Pelhnum Building- on Center Street, the Invincible Park communities in Sinkor, and the BW Harris point of contact  in central Monrovia, while others we also recruited from Margibi ,Bassa and Bomi  counties. 
GOL has so far  given  five hundred and twenty six thousand ($5,26000.00) for the first three (3) months  commencing from August to October. The UN system in Liberia has arranged to providing $3 million very shortly  as a support .

It can be recalled that on June 30, 2022, the GoL in collaboration with One UN system in Liberia launched the At-Risk Youth program intended to address, tackle and take youthful  Liberians who are addicted to drugs.from the streets
