For 2024 Quranic Memorization and Recitation Competition Mohamed VI Foundation of African Islamic Scholars in Liberia begins Process of Its Fifth Annual Qualifying session
The Mohamed VI Foundation of African Islamic Scholars in Liberia has begun the process of its fifth Annual Qualifying session for 2024 Quranic Memorization and Recitation competition.
Sheikh Sualiho Mohammed Dukuly, Secretary General for the Foundation in Liberia disclosed in a press release that the competition will be conducted in three categories:
1. Complete memorization of the Holy Quran based on warsh sytle of
recitation.
2. Complete memorization of the Holy Quran in various recitation
styles Chosen by participants.
3. Memorization of (at least) five ahzaab with strict adherence to the
rules of recitation (tajweed).
Sheikh Dukuly also indicated that winners of the three categories will participate in the grand final of the competition, which will be held as determined by the Foundation (the parent body) in the kingdom of Morocco.
He further highlighted that the cardinal objective of these competitions is to connect young African Muslims with the Holy Book
of God Almighty and encourage them to memorize, recite and act upon
it.
Meanwhile, a team headed by Sheikh Rashid A. Sheriff, coordinator of the program, will carry out this week a vetting process at the various Quranic Memorization centers in Monrovia to select suitable candidates
for the competition scheduled on Saturday May 11, 2024.
