YSP is a non-political movement that deals mostly with young people in 30 countries across the world including Liberia, while Restoring Lives Ministries International is a US-based organization.
The latest move is intended to help the Government of Liberia(GoL) in the fight against the virus, which has claimed lives of many people around the world.
Speaking during the launch recently, the President of YSP, Mr. Elijah D. Kopeh, said the joint effort of the two organizations will help citizens in the fight against the disease through awareness.
Kopeh said young people are the leaders in waiting, and as such, they must all join the fight as it was done during the Ebola crisis to ensure that Liberia is declared free from the global pandemic.
“Gone are those days when young people used to sit on the fence and see the old ones doing things which theyas young people could do. We will begin the fight today till the end,” he vowed.
As part of the YSP and the US-based organization’s initiative, they purchased several anti covid-19 materials for use by the needy.
He put the cost of the items at US$500 or L$100,000, stressing, it is the beginning of the joint initiative.
“A healthy citizen is a healthy community and as such, we will be on the frontline in helping the Government of Liberia and the health care providers in making Liberia a safe place for all citizens in terms of health,” Kopeh indicated.
He revealed that plans are underway to reach to other parts of the country in the coming months and they cannot do it without money.
He then called on other partners to help them in this fight.
