LKF League: Ask Sisters Humiliated, Royal, God’s Anointed Win

The 2018 Edition of the Liberia Kickball Federation (LKF) National League continued at the weekend with some unbelievable results at the popular Samuel Kanyan Doe Sports Complex (SKD) Practice Pitch.

The SKD Practice Pitch is located in Paynesville, outside Monrovia, and is the main venue for LKF activities including the national league, knockout tournament, jamboree among others. First though, LKF double champion Angels of the Sky or ASK Sisters were completely humiliated by rival Supreme Girls 5-0 homes before the watchful eyes of its officials.

The defeat is the first for ASK Sisters in Group-One of the big 12 and second in the 2019 LKF league.

It could be recalled that the “Angels,” who won the league in 2017 before claiming double (league and knockout championships) in 2018, were beaten by Young Stars Sports Club International (YSSCI) during the first phase of the tournament.

For Supreme, it was her first win in three matches played so far in the second phase (big 12) having lost massively by 4-0 and 6-1 homes to Vision Sisters and Amazon respectively.

It was a morale booster for the struggling LKF giants, who needed nothing but a win in order to restore hope of reaching to the final eight of competition.

In other matches, God’s Anointed Kickball Club (GAKC) left it late to inflict a narrow 2-1 defeat on Vision Sisters. Vision Sisters had led the match from the second innis and defended well until the fifth and final innis.

It is the second successive defeat against Vision, having lost to Ask Sisters last weekend. It was also a great relief to the Duport Road based club, who lost 5-0 homes to Ask Sisters for walking out of the field, before being dealt similar score for forfeiting against Amazon.

Bushrod Island based Royal Sisters renewed hope of stealing a place in the group by beating Amazon 3-2.

As it stands, Royal Sisters are just two points behind Amazon, but has a game advantage.

In the second division category, Afro Sports thrashed Kesselley Kanneh United Kickball Club (KK-KC) 8-3 homes and Ecclesia narrowly skipped Blue Eagles 5-4 homes.
