LFA President Lauds Liberia’s Chief Patron of Sports

MONROVIA, LIBERIA -The President of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) Mustapha Raji has commended Liberia’s Chief Patron of Sports President George Manneh Weah for his continuous support towards the promotion and development of sports across the country.

“ We, at the LFA, are excited  for your infrastructure development in the sector and it is not a surprise to us because, we are a living testimony,” the LFA boss said. Speaking Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the official ground breaking ceremony for the construction of a multipurpose complex to be named and styled: the Invincible Sports Park, Mr. Raji wants the Chief Patron of Sports, as part of his sports for development program, to replicate the infrastructure development in the sector across the country in order to ensure that younger talents in rural areas have the same opportunity to explore their skills like their urban counterparts.

He assured the gathering of the LFA’s continuous support and cooperation in order to promote and develop sports in the country. According to him, the development of sports infrastructure is very important and it will help provide the opportunity for Liberia in the future to produce more and the next George Weah to come. However, Mr. Raji was quick to add that such can only happen when Liberia has more sports infrastructures, which the LFA boss noted, will help develop younger talents across the country. At the same time, the LFA boss lauded the Chief Patron of Sports for his numerous tax waivers to the LFA, which is immensely helping the LFA to develop sports infrastructures in the Country.

He named some of the benefits of President Weah’s tax waivers to the LFA as the SKD Practice Ground Pitch in Paynesville, the George Weah Technical Center in the Careysburg and the Tusa Sports Pitch, among others, of which he acknowledged, the LFA is grateful. The building of sports infrastructure, he stated, will help greatly in the development of the sector, noting that it will eventually bring smiles to the future young talents of the country.
