Weah’s Special Aide Bags Young Humanitarian Award-Urges Liberians to Unite

MONROVIA, LIBERIA -Special Presidential Aide, Mr. Sekou Kalasco Damaro, recently bagged the 2020 Young Humanitarian Award from the Patriotic Movement of Liberia (PAMOL) for his dedicated services to humanity over the year under review.

The colorful award ceremony was held at the I-Campus in Monrovia, with several persons, including an array of government officials in attendance. Damaro, since his ascendency as Special Aide in the office of the President of Liberia, Dr. George Manneh Weah, has been instrumental in reaching out to several needy Liberians. After receiving the 2020 Young Humanitarian Award, Damaro took to his official social media (Facebook) stating: “Today, I humbly bagged a Humanitarian Award from an acclaimed organization called PAMOL. Amongst the many young Liberians and young people in public and private service, PAMOL rewarded me as a Young Humanitarian of the Year.”

He continued: “Honestly, though joyously grateful, I remain humbled and appreciate the organization so highly for this Humanitarian Award that remains historic to me. I want to appreciate The Almighty Allah for His many blessings upon my life; His words remain the guiding principles in all that I do.” According to him, PAMOL's award has further motivated him to even work harder. He dedicated the award to the many mothers in the slum communities of Liberia. Special Aide Damaro noted that no matter where one finds themselves in society, humility should be the greatest act that every man must possess, adding: “All that I do is just to impact lives by putting smiles on the faces of the underprivileged.

I am surprised that others take account of the work we do. This motivates me and says a lot about being simply who you are and never change because of the position occupied.” He used the occasion to thank President Weah for allowing him to serve his country and as well give back to his people. He also thanked those patriotic Liberian that voted him during the voting period. “You guys (Liberians) are the real champion,” Damaro posted. Meanwhile, he cautioned his fellow compatriots to put their political differences aside and help the President move the country forward.

While acknowledging that the country’s economy is going through some difficulties, he pointed out that the Liberian leader is working tirelessly to ensure the nation’s economy bounces back. “I acknowledged the fact that Liberia is going through some turbulent time, however, I can assured that President Weah is working tirelessly around the clock to take the economy from its current status to a more suitable one for his people,” Damaro emphasized. He continued: “Despite our political differences, I urged all well-meaning Liberians to remain peaceful and put away their political difference aside for the forward march of our common patrimony, Liberia.” At the same time, Presidential Aide Damaro further stressed for all those in public and private position of high standings to look back and see where they can be of help to those in need. He encouraged his colleagues in high places in society to remain humble to their fellow compatriots and always return to the slums and the needy for alms.
