However, lawyers representing the legal interest of Mr. H. Dan Marais, and all led by Cllr. Wilfred Sayer excepted to the ruling and announced in open court an appeal to the Honorable Supreme Court of Liberia which is regarded as the final arbiter of justice in the country. The case grew out of the action a motion of irregularities filed by defeated Maryland Senator Marais and all of Maryland County as complainants Versus National Elections Commission as first respondent and Coalition for Democratic Change(CDC) by and through Mr. James Biney as second respondent.
In the ruling, Commissioner Kpangkai said the BOC agrees with its Hearing Officer that he was in no error and that it was proper to consolidate the complaints and that the Complainants did not established enough evidence to proof widespread vote rigging and irregularities to change the outcome of the result.
