Wiemi O. Benson is an official of the Ultimate Warriors Championship and has voiced that the competition aims to help promote Mix Martial Art fighter's knowledge in the field. Benson stressed that UWC currently has 30 registered athletes and 10 out of the 30 have been selected for the fight and are carrying on their training process daily. He hopes that the athletes will keep up the spirit for the improvement of their talents and the game itself. Said Benson: “We currently have 30 registered athletes under UWC and they have been carrying on their training process daily since the lifting of the ban on sporting activities in the country and it was from among the 30 athletes we selected 10 based on their tactical performances to take part in our scheduled championship.”
He noted that they have made clear to the fighters that the fight is not about animosity but straightly about sports where people go and complete, show their talents; therefore, he encouraged them to be focused and professional as possible. “The fight would start at 8: pm and the coast of entry is 5 USD on average and 10 USD for VIP but I’m calling on the general public to pass through the proper channel to buy tickets because without the proper ticket no one will be allowed to enter.” Benson emphasized that 10 fighters were selected for the fight but made it clear that each of them was selected based on merit and not based on who knows you and that they will not accept any cheating in the competition because the UWC aims to help improve the talents of their fighters and the winners of the fight will be awarded cash prizes.
