Pro- Poor Housing Project Goes to Bong and Nimba -200 Homes to Be Constructed Soon

MONROVIA, LIBERIA -The Executive Mansion has disclosed the extension of the Pro-Poor Housing Unit Project in Nimba and Bong Counties. Addressing Executive Mansion Reporters at the regular presidential update on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, Deputy Presidential Press Secretary, Mr. Smith Toby, said the move by the Government of Liberia (GoL) is in fulfillment of putting smiles on the faces of Liberians, especially the ordinary people.

The project, which is expected to commence early December of this year, according to Toby, will benefit about twenty-four(24) villages in the two counties. Upon commencement and subsequent completion of the project, Toby further disclosed, beneficiaries will live in suitable units with living rooms, inside bathrooms, back and front porches and many others. He mentioned that Bong and Nimba Counties under the project are expected to benefit hundred units each.

The deputy presidential press secretary stated that the initiative by the GoL so far upon completion will see four counties benefiting to include: Grand Kru, Grand Gedeh and soon to be: Bong and Nimba Counties as the entire country as part of the plan and in the coming months and years will also feel similar impact by the Pro- Poor Government. In a related development, Toby announced the readiness of the Ganta Market Project after the completion by the contractors.

Currently, he pointed out that cleaning up exercise in the terrain in which the new market facility is situated is ongoing by the beneficiaries as President George Weah is expected to dedicate the Ganta Market Facility to the people earlynext month.
