As she launches musical album: Cultural Ambassador gets pat on the back

Cultural Ambassador, Juli Endee, finally launched her musical album, The Prevenient Grace in Monrovia on Friday. But the mammoth crowd which turned up at the Antoinette Tubman stadium on Sunday for the jamboree which followed the launch was spectacular as it features Amb. Endee herself and a host of high profile Liberian local and international musical artists has left many appreciating her years of work put into the album production.

At the official launch on Friday at the Monrovia City Hall, President George Manneh Weah reaffirmed his exquisite confidence in Ambassador Juli Endee as Liberia’s Cultural Ambassador because she represents a symbol of peace, unity and reconciliation.

President Weah described Ambassador Endee as a unique and distinct woman who has contributed immensely to peace over the years in Liberia, the Mano River Union Basin and the ECOWAS Sub-region through her songs, cultural and humanitarian activities. The President pledged his unflinching commitment and support to working with Ambassador Endee and all well-meaning Liberians to reconcile and unite the country irrespective of political, religious or tribal diversities.

President Weah’s Statement was contained in a message delivered on his behalf by Special Presidential Envoy and Advisor to the President, Dr. Larry Bropleh, at the launch of Amb. Endee’s Peace Album, entitled “the Prevenient Grace” held at the Monrovia City Hall on Friday. The Liberian Leader, said for genuine reconciliation to be achieved in Liberia, rape and other domestic violence being perpetrated against women and children must stop.

He maintained that lasting reconciliation and national unity may continue to be illusive in the absence of justice for all Liberians irrespective of social status and education. According to Dr. Bropleh, President Weah has, therefore, promised to ensure that justice for all prevails in Liberia.

The Liberian Leader has also admonished Liberians to rise above petty jealousy and demonstrate genuine love for the nation by promoting peace and reconciliation. The Prevenient Grace album which contains 17 songs and three singles is a result of near 20 years of artistic work done by Amb. Endee.

At the same time, Cultural Ambassador, Juli Endee has also received a pat on the back from foreign dignitaries accredited near Monrovia for her role in promoting peace and reconciliation in Liberia through her songs and other cultural activities. The Resident Coordinator of the United Nations System in Liberia, Mr. Yacoub Hillo said Amb. Endee is a genuine promoter of peace in Liberia and urged all well Liberians to join the crusade to promote peace and genuine reconciliation in Liberia.

The UN envoy made the statement Friday evening at the Monrovia City Hall during the launch of Amb Juli Endee’s music album, the Prevenient Grace. He admonished the Liberian Government and political leaders to stop inflammatory, inciting and antagonistic statements under the guise of politics.

Mr. Yacoub Hillo said majority Liberians do not want the country to slip back into its ugly past but rather want peace, stressing that inflammatory and inciting languages have the propensity to promote upheavals for Liberia. The United Nations System Country Coordinator said the international Community stands ready to support Liberia if political leaders and the government work together for peace and reconciliation.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Chairperson of the Commission of the African Union, Ambassador Ibrahim Mbaba Kamara said a reconciled nation breeds rapid transformation and growth. He praised Ambassador Juli Endee for her relentless efforts and said Liberian leaders should therefore, put the collective interest of the Liberian people above the individual political interest and work together for peace and reconciliation.

Meanwhile, the Cameroonian Ambassador to Liberia, Beng-yela Augustine Gang, wants Liberians and Africans to respect their cultural heritage. He said culture bridges the cab of alienation and promotes oneness, peace and reconciliation. He praised Amb. Endee for her continued initiatives to promote Peace and the Liberian Culture.
