The disclosure was made Monday, October 21, 2019 whena local Civil Society conglomerate under the banner: National Civil Society Union of Liberia (NACSUL) recognized BlueCrest University College-NIIT Liberia as the “Fastest Growing University College in Liberia”.
This accolade comes few days after the institution had its first Graduation Ceremony, where many young Liberians received Certificates and Bachelors in Information Communication Technology and Business Studies.
Speaking on behalf of NACSUL, its Secretary General Sekou Sonii said: “Our selection of BlueCrest University College is based on the institution’s progressive mode in creating the space for many school going Liberians to gain modern education in Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Business Studies.
Since the emergence of this high technology driven institution on the Liberian educational scene, she has incorporated the use of new age technology to learning processes, and has greatly enhanced the delivery of quality education to all, especially in ICT.”
The group named the offering of training seminars, workshops, discussions, personality development and international conferences for business professionals, journalists, academicians, policy-makers and university students as laudable actions; geared towards making Liberia a technology hub in the West African Region.
They further intoned that the presence of BlueCrest University College in Liberia has alleviated the high cost associated with the acquisition of education in Information Communication Technology; as Liberians had to travel abroad before attaining quality and modern ICT Education.
Receiving the award on behalf of BlueCrest, the institution Centre Manager, Mr. Pankaj Kumar Singh, thanked NACSUL and described the honor as a motivation for them to do more in revitalizing Liberia’s educational Sector from mess to best. He then announced that the institution has commended offering Advanced Certificate in Fashion Design. He then urged Liberians to take advantage of these studies, as means of preparing themselves for a better future.
Also making remarks was former Director General of the National Commission on Higher Education (NCHE), Dr. Michael Slawon, and now Vice President for Academic Affairs and Advisor of the Governing Council; who said a thorough search was made for the establishment of an Information Communication Technology college in Liberia.
