Journalist Miller, who was an eminent broadcaster and a talk show host at OK FM, a privately owned broadcast radio station in Monrovia, died during the afternoon hours of Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the ELWA Hospital in Paynesville, outside Monrovia followinga brief illness.
His death has since sent shock waves in and out of the country, with many, especially journalists expressing sorrow over his passing.
Frankly, the death of the fallen Liberian Journalist is a vacuum that would be hard to fill, as he was devoted, hardworking and unbending all through his professional career.
Consequently, President Weah’s request r was communicated through his Presidential Press Secretary, Mr. Isaac Solo Kelgbeh, during an Executive Mansion press briefing on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.
Kelgbeh disclosed that the Government of Liberia(GoL) is ready to facilitate any cost that will be attached to bring in an independent pathologist so as to lay to rest mounting public insinuations on social media and some media outlets that the journalist died as the result of internal bleeding.
There have been series of social media accounts that link his death to a recent brutality meted on him by officers of the elite Executive Protection Service (EPS) during the Grand Final of the National County Sports Meet (NCSM) at the Samuel Kanyan Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville, outside Monrovia.
We all are saddened by the death of our colleague, Zenu Miller, our deepest condolences to his wife, children and family, including the OK FM family.
We believe, when the independent autopsy is carried out as requested by the President, it would not only lay to rest the mounting speculations in the public, but will also establish the real cause of death of our fallen colleague.
To this end, we again welcome the President’s request for an independent autopsy and encourage the bereaved family to cooperate with the GoL in this endeavor for a peaceful home going of our fallen colleague.
