In a statement delivered by Mr. David Sackoh, Secretary General of the LLC, the organization noted that if confirmed by the Liberian Senate, Karbo will be the second female to serve from within the Liberia Labour Movement in government position in the Republic of Liberia after former Montserrado County Senator Joyce Musu Freeman. The organization recalled that this is also the first nomination by the President of Liberia from within The Trade Union Organizations and particularly the Liberia Labor Congress since its establishment as National Labour Center in the country.
“The Liberia Labour Congress (LLC) expresses her heartfelt thanks and appreciations to the President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency, Dr. George Manneh Weah, for his preferment in selecting a female from the Trade Union Movement, Mrs. Hannah McCauley Karbo as Deputy Minister for Planning Manpower and Human Resource Development at the Ministry Of Labor of Republic of Liberia,” said the statement. “More besides, upon her confirmation by the Honorable Liberia Senate, Mrs. Hannah Macaulay Karbo will be the second female to serve from within the Liberia Labour Movement in any government positions in the Republic of Liberia, after former Senator Joyce Musu Freeman and also the first nomination by the President of Liberia from within The Trade Union Organizations and particularly the Liberia Labor Congress since its establishment as National Labor Center in the Republic Of Liberia,” Sackoh stated.
“Therefore, the Liberia Labor Congress extends its high solicitation to President Dr. George Manneh Weah for his preferment into the Trade Union Movement to select Mrs. Hannah Macaulay Karbo to serve in his government at the Ministry of Labour as Deputy Minister when confirmed.
