“Mask For All Campaign” Launched In Monrovia

In the wake of the multiplying COVID-19 cases in Liberia and in a move to reduce the further spread of the virus in the country, the Government of Liberia(GoL) through the National Public Health institute of Liberia(NPHIL) and other agencies of the GoL on Friday, June 19, 2020 launched the "Mask for all Campaign" at the Ministerial Complex in Congo Town, outside Monrovia.

 Speaking at the launching ceremony, the Director General of NPHIL, Dr. MosokaFallah, cautioned Liberians and residents to take the wearing of face mask very seriously, especially at a time when the virus is spreading on a daily basis across the country. He stressed that even the great United States of America(USA) with the sophisticated health system is still struggling to contain the virus, and therefore, Liberia is no exception.According to him, it is time all Liberians and residents of the country fully abide by the health protocols, mainly the wearing of mask for the supreme interest of all.
 
Launching the "Mask for all Campaign", Commerce and industry Minister, Prof. Wilson Tarpeh, committed his entity’s full preparedness to ensure the effective enforcement of the mandate in all business areas in the 15 political subdivisions of Liberia.As a major partner to the endeavor, the Transport Ministry Director for Operations, Mr. LawrenzoBeyan, promised to work with the related transport operatives to ensure the mandate is compulsorily upheld by all in the sector.
 According to him, they will be very robust in implementing the mandate as such he used the occasion to warn violators to desist or else legal action will be taken against them.
 
The “mask for all campaign” is now in full swing as relevant stakeholders, mainly law enforcers are now on their heels ensuring that everyone abides by such mandate in the general interest of the country.Health authorities are of the strongest conviction that in the wake of controlling the social distancing health protocol, the effective and proper wearing of masks, which was introduced months ago, can help reduce the further spread of the coronavirus, especially through fluid, and therefore, they encouraged the entire population to wear the masks as they work collectively to battle the pandemic which is still causing serious challenge for the globe.Meanwhile, the Spokesman of the Liberia National Police(LNP), Mr. Moses Carter, thanked the health workers and the joint security team for rendering countless sacrifices to protect lives and properties in the wake of the global health crisis.He assured the body at the launch of the campaign that the joint security team will work professionally in ensuring that the public abides by the measures to the core
