The Grand Bassa County Senator pointed out that the country will only move forward when the issue of leadership is addressed through a concerted effort.
Sen. Karnga-Lawrence was speaking Monday, June 1, 2020 when she welcomed on board several new members, who made their decision to join/rejoin the party.
“Liberia is in dire need of leadership and the only way we can redeem this country is to work together. You are whole heartedly welcomed,” she told the new partisans. “We believe that together, we can do it. Today we are glad to have you here to join this vision that I know you read and believe in. your being here means you share our ideology. We are glad to welcome you. This is not the end. Our arms and doors are opened to welcome on board new members,” she added.
In remarks, former Deputy House Speaker, Hans M. Barchue, pledged his commitment to work assiduously for the success of the party. The Grand Bassa County Electoral District #1 Representative indicated that the LP has over the years been a united force, stressing that by his decision, he will work in line with the doctrine of the party, which gears to make Liberia a better place for all.
“I am pleased today to announce to this country and the entire world that I, Hans Barchue, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Liberia, do hereby declare my intent to join the Liberty Party from today’s date and pledge to work assiduously for the success of this party,” declared the former deputy speaker.
Rep. Barchue, who has been tipped to contest the Senatorial seat on the ticket of the LP in 2023, added: “The Liberty Party has done a lot in this country. It has been able to put people together. I pledged my unflinching support and loyalty to this party,” he added.
Madam Roseline Sneh, former Superintendent of Grand Kru County and a former stalwart of the erstwhile ruling Unity Party (UP), also vowed to work with the entire leadership and membership of the party in making a difference.
She promised to promote activities of the LP across Grand Kru County with total loyalty to the party.
“I want to pledge my support and loyalty to this party. I am here to work with Liberty Party. Let me tell you, they never promoted the Liberty in Grand Kru. When the right time comes you will see our strength. 2020 will determine the difference. I pledge my allegiance to this party. We will work together to do the best thing for Liberia. Liberia is in trouble and we need to rise up to do the right thing,” she noted.
Former Sinoe County Superintendent, Mr. Thomas Romeo Quioh, who rejoined the party, like others, also committed himself to ensuring that the party to a better shaper in Sinoe and Liberia at large.
“I am more reinforced to have a new face for this country. As a team, we will make the difference. I have come back to contribute my quota. I don’t get tired working, especially in these kinds of challenging times,” the former Sinoe County administrator said.
Mr. Trokon Hill, like others, pledged to work with the leadership to make the party better. “I have come today to join the most dynamic forward moving party. Together, we will win,” he added.
The Vice Chairman for Political Affairs of the LP, Mr. Abraham Darius Dillon, who spoke briefly spoke to the media, described the new members as an added value to the LP by extension the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP).
