Garza is a partially populated community and a subset of the Soul Clinic Community in Paynesville, outside Monrovia.
The only road leading into the community, we are told, will soon be closed by a private property owner, and therefore, the community decided to help itself by finding an alternative road.
We are also told that the self-help initiative is the community’s own way of buttressing the Government of Liberia(GoL) development efforts as the country is faced with many developmental challenges.
While other people are waiting for the government and development partners to do everything for them, the residents of Garza believe that jump starting such road initiative could motivate the government, development partners and people of goodwill to help them quickly achieve their vision.
We wholeheartedly commend the residents of Garza Community for their insightfulness in finding a prompt solution for a looming nightmare, because when the only road leading into the community is closed, it would be a serious predicament for the community, including other nearby areas.
Against this backdrop, we join the residents of Garza Community in also encouraging the government, development partners, philanthropic organizations and people of goodwill to support their ongoing road development initiative.
When the road project is finished, we believe, it would bring a great relief not only to the people of Garza Community, but also to other nearby areas.
It is our fervent hope that the ongoing Garza Road Project would claim the attention of all, particularly the government via the Ministry of Public Works that is involved in infrastructure development at the community, district and county levels.
